Sustainable transport of ice cores from Antarctica to Tasmania for atmospheric research. We are pleased to present an innovative project in which we are involved and which enables the safe transport of ice core drillings from Antarctica to Tasmania. The specially developed transport container keeps the ice frozen for up to 10 days - without any active cooling! How does it work? Through the use of state-of-the-art technology:
Insulating panels with deep vacuum: These offer an outstanding insulating effect with a thin wall thickness. TerraVac GmbH
Phase Change Material (PCM): This material is "charged" or "frozen" by the extreme climatic conditions of the Antarctic. This is how we utilise Mother Nature's cold energy
Thanks to this innovative solution, we can dispense with active cooling systems and make an important contribution to sustainability. We would like to thank our project partner #TerraVac GmbH from the Liebherr Group for the valuable cooperation.
We wish you continued success with this great project.
If you have similar extraordinary challenges, we will be happy to support you with sustainable refrigeration and heat pump solutions.
